NOTICE OF YOUR FINANCIAL PRIVACY RIGHTS

This is our privacy notice for our customers. When we use the words "you" and "your" we mean the following types of customers:

  • All of our consumer customers who have a continuing relationship with us, such as: 

  • Deposit account

  • Loan account

  • Credit card

  • Safe deposit box

  • Self-directed Individual Retirement Account where we act as custodian or trustee

  • Home mortgage brokerage

  • All IRA accounts for which we act as custodian 

We will tell you the sources for nonpublic personal information we collect on our customers. We will tell you what measures we take to secure that information. 

We first must define some terms:

We, our, and us means Basin State Bank.

Nonpublic personal information means information about you that we collect in connection with providing a financial product or service to you. Nonpublic personal information does not include information that is available from public sources, such as telephone directories or government records.

An affiliate is a company that we own or control, a company that owns or controls us, and a company that is owned or controlled by the same company that owns or controls us. Ownership does not mean complete ownership, but means owning enough to have control.

A nonaffiliated third party is a company that is not an affiliate of ours. 

OUR PRIVACY PRINCIPLES: 

  1. We recognize your right to financial privacy
    At Basin State Bank we recognize that you have a right to expect your personal financial information to remain private and secure. We will maintain standards to ensure that your information is private and secure at all times. 

  2. Collection, retention, and use of information
    Your relationship is important to us and we're committed to providing you with the best service possible. Basin State Bank may collect, retain, and use nonpublic information about customers (for example, we will obtain a credit report on an auto loan) but only as we believe is reasonably useful in administering our business and providing the products and services that our customers request. This will include information from applications received from consumers for bank products and services. This will also include information from transaction processing, such as purchases made on a debit card, or electronic transactions to a deposit account  

  3. We will maintain accurate information about you
    Basin State Bank has established procedures to ensure that your financial information is accurate, correct and complete, in keeping with reasonable commercial standards. We also promise to respond to requests to correct inaccurate information in a timely manner. 

  4. We will limit employee access to your information
    Each Basin State Bank employee is required to follow our "Code of Ethics" policy, which states that all cus­tomer information is considered private and privileged and is to be used solely for the purpose of providing you with the finest service available.  

  5. We will maintain a Security Program to protect your information
    We will maintain a Security Program which includes specific security standards and procedures to prevent unauthorized access to your information. 

  6. Restrictions on disclosing your information to outsiders
    We promise not to reveal specific information about your accounts, or other information that will personally identify you, to those outside the Basin State Bank organization for their independent use, unless:

    1. The information is necessary to help complete a transaction you requested. 

    2. We have written permission from the account holder. 

    3. The disclosure is required or allowed by law, such as reporting the condition of an account to a reputable credit bureau. 

  7. We will maintain your privacy in business relationships with nonaffiliated third parties.
    Basin State Bank will provide certain customer information to nonaffiliated third party companies that we hire to provide us operational support. These nonaffiliated third party companies provide services that in turn allow us to complete the transaction you have requested, such as real estate loans. Examples of these services include, but are not limited to, title searches, appraisals, flood certification and credit reports. Basin State Bank will not share and/or sell nonpublic personal information to any nonaffiliated third party for marketing purposes. 

  8. Former customers
    Our Privacy Policy extends to information on persons who are no longer current customers. 

  9. Disclosing our Privacy Commitment to you
    At Basin State Bank we value our customer relationships. We want you to understand how we use the infor­mation that you provide and our commitment to ensuring your personal privacy.

IDENTITY THEFT INFORMATION

The number of Americans affected by identity theft will top 30 million this year. Identity theft occurs when someone steals your personal information to establish credit... purchase items... or borrow money in your name.

How can you protect yourself? Here are some important facts, tips and reminders:

  • File a police reposrt.
  • Contact your banker
  • Notify credit bureau fraud units
  • Place a fraud alert statement on your credit report.
  • Request that credit bureaus identify accounts closed due to fraud as "closed at consumer's request."
  • Request freed credit reports (fraud victims are entitled to two free credit reports from each of the credit bureaus).
  • Report check theft to check verification companies.
  • Check post office for unauthorized change of address requests.
  • Follow-up contacts with letter and keep copies of all correspondence.

Information Security — Keeping your financial information secure is one of our most important responsibilities. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to protect customer information.
